The leaf cleaning crew did an unexpected sweep last week and then followed up today, which was good because I finally got my leafy pals onto the street. But one house up the street got skipped because they put their garbage cans in front of the piles. D'oh! :geek:

Does this mean we'll have one more sweep op? Stay tuned.

Now the whole street is full of leaf piles after the fact. Hopefully there's another sweep op! :diabloanifire: This emoticon seems fairly appropriate for leaf gathering (in dungeons and dragons!)

Well, finally had our second leaf pick-up today. Cause there were so many and some underneath were wet, not all got picked up and some got pushed up onto the grass again. Anyone know if they'll pickup after next week?? We still have alot of leaves on some trees.

Wouldn't he be in violation of any leaf burning ordinance?

This from Greendale.org should answer your question:

Quote:
The Department of Public Works will begin a final leaf collection service beginning on November 17, 2008. Residents may continue to place leaves in the street through Sunday, November 16, 2008.

Please remember to place leaves 2 feet from the curb line into the street in piles no wider than 4 feet. Only leaves and grass clippings can be collected. Leaves may be brought to the DPW Yard for recycling during regular hours of operation; Monday - Friday 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. and Saturdays 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Please call 423-2133 for more
information.

Should be a nice, toasty weekend for raking leaves.
Joe

I noticed they came down our street early today 11/14, and I thought I missed out. So, I called the GPW to find out if they would come again. Yes, but we need to have your leaves on the street by 11/16. Last pickup will be Monday, 11/17, pending there is no snow.
