Garlic mustard is on a two-year cycle. I think the year before we had a hard enough winter to kill off the second-year growth. This past year, not so much as I saw it coming up in late January already.
Best solution for that is just to pull it and bag it. DO NOT compost it.
As for dandelions, twice a week application of Weedbgone seems to work.
