The Greendale Historical Society will host a special screening of the new documentary movie “Fish Fry Night Milwaukee" on Saturday, January 16 at 1 p.m. at the Greendale Safety Center, 5911 W. Grange Avenue.

The film, produced and directed by Greendale resident Ron Faiola, has had numerous showings with a world premiere at the Times Cinema in October of 2009.

Admission is free to Historical Society members and $5 for non-members. Tickets can be purchased online via PayPal, at the door, or at the Reiman Visitors Center.

DVD copies of the film, with bonus footage will be available at the screening for $20, with $2 of each sale going to the Greendale Historical Society.

As a bonus, Toucandy.com will provide free treats and movie snacks.

That's a great idea! Make sure you bring enough fish dinners for everyone, including potato pancakes and fries, lots of tartar sauce, lemon wedges and rye bread with butter. :happy7:

I agree with Ron. It would be great if Love Greendale would provide a free fish fry for everyone attending. And Ron, you forgot that they should include a beer to go along with that fish fry. :drunken:

The screening of Fish Fry Night Milwaukee was a huge success! The Greendale Historical Society had a capacity crowd in the Safety Building, Toucandy.com handed out free candy, popcorn and bottled water and everyone enjoyed the movie.

In addition to members of the Greendale Historical Society, real estate guru and Elvis doppelganger Dave Bruno was in attendance along with Noelle Joers-Yanisch, a candidate for Trustee in 2010. Notably absent were any elected officials from Village Hall.

At the GHS meeting preceeding the film, it was noted that work is underway on renovating the Hose Tower using funds from a $13,000 grant. Triad Construction started work on December 28 and new windows will be installed in the existing window openings that had been bricked up.
