Associated hasn't been doing that well lately. Now there's two large retail spaces to fill on Broad St.

We posted the same link at exactly the same time, so I deleted mine and will add my comments here.

It appears the next empty building on Broad St. will be a bank. Gee, with a new senior apartment, Macy's, revitalized Southridge and a Walmart all coming to the Village, you would think a bank would want to stay in the Village with all of those high-paying jobs that development will bring.

I guess this is what happens when Hermes and Michaels focus on giving away TIF money to the Southridge area and neglect the Village Center.

Hopefully there will be some creative thinking to fill the bank and former pet store spaces by Village leaders and landlord. I think the original vision of the "revitalized" downtown Greendale has run it's course and new ideas need to be in place.

I agree it has run its course mainly because Reiman abandoned promotion of it and set rents too high, and Village leaders were dead set against any kind of lodging like it the Village. Now they'd probably kill for getting a B&B in the Village just for the revenue. Face it, you have a "tourist destination" but no place for visitors to stay. Bus tours no longer cut it.

I believe the long-range plan had condos where the bank is, so that could be an option.
